Friends of ours, Ryan & Allie Ladd, began this foundation not long after hearing a diagnosis that their daughter, Kennedy, was born with a rare, genetic disease called MPS1 Hurler Syndrome which is a progressive disorder that impacts almost every part of the body causing irreversible damage and pain. Several years later, their son, Lincoln, received the same diagnosis. Their kids and others with Hurler Syndrome face numerous medical procedures, surgeries, hospital stays and therapies to help give them a better quality of life. While this is helpful, there is still no cure. But we believe that one is close! The funds that the foundation raises go toward research for a cure and also go toward helping other families affected by MPS1 with kids going through long hospital stays by providing them each with an iPad.
